An Interview with Carmine Coyote

Posted on 06 August 2008

Carmine Coyote was interviewed recently by Chrissy Scivique for the website Office Arrow and that interview, together with a text summary of what was discussed, is now available on the Office arrow site (free sign-in required).

Amongst the topics we discussed were:

  • The origins and concept of the Slow Leadership site and the reasons why it’s rather different from most sites, even others about leadership and management.
  • The evils of multi-tasking and why it’s critically important to spend enough time thinking before jumping into action.
  • The nature of authenticity and why should should always be yourself.
  • How integrity and ethics create trust and why we are living through a crisis of trust that undermines the fundamentals of the capitalist approach to business and economics.

You have an excellant leadership blog, one of the most read on my Google reader list. I would have enjoyed reading your interview, but I do not like sites that require registration (free or otherwise) to read their content.

  2. Carmine Coyote says:

I’m sorry about that, Scott, but it’s something that I can’t control. Anyhow, I’m glad you enjoy the blog. Keep reading, my friend.

I couldn’t access the interview file but read the article and found myself nodding throughout. When there’s ‘nodding’ Adrian, it means that you’ve well and truly hit the nail on the head re the evils of multi-tasking and ‘hamburger management’ and in terms of going for the latest fashions in management instead of just being yourself.

    Well done.

  4. Carmine Coyote says:

Thanks, Kath. I’m going to see if I can get the site to allow me to re-publish the interview itself in a format that’s more open to everyone.
