Our Submissions Policy
We accept unsolicited article submissions emailed to authors@slowleadership.org, subject to the following terms. Making a submission indicates your acceptance:
- Anyone may submit an article. Slow Leadership reserves the right to not accept any work. We will review all submissions and give you a response within a week.
- If a submission is accepted, we maintain the right to publish any version of your article while you maintain rights to the work. The editor may make changes to your article and publish it at any time.
- We accept submissions only by email.
- All submissions must be attached in Word97, Pages, RTF or plain text document format.
- All submissions must be accompanied by a brief abstract of the article and a short biography of the author (maximum 100 words).
- Your biography may contain a link to your own web site or information about your publications.
- We do not accept works of fiction, such as short stories or poetry.
- At this time, we are not able to offer any monetary compensation for accepted submissions.
Other Guidance
- Please read published articles on the site carefully as guidance on writing style. We will not accept articles that clash with the prevailing tone and style of the site.
- This is a magazine-type blog about the world of work. We do not accept submissions on other, unrelated topics.
- Articles should contain no less that 500 words and no more than 1000, unless agreed beforehand with the editor.
- Please use the form above to email the editor a rough idea of what you want to write about.
- We look for writing that is witty, engaging to read and that makes people think. We do not publish articles aimed principally at selling goods, promoting books or driving traffic to a web site.
- Accompanying pictures are encouraged, as long as the author has full permission to use the image.
- Please, please check spelling and grammar before submission. Mistakes reflect poorly on your article and on you as a writer.
- If you offer an article by a specific time, remember that reliability and punctuality count.
